Smiling through the sunrise...
Today was the second day that my parents were presented with irrefutable proof of my being, but the first in which they truly believed it without hesitancy. The second pregnancy test was also positive, the + showing immediately on the little band! These are some sunrise views from the patio of the somewhat luxurious hotel where we were staying, a four story building overflowing with the lushness of a variety of tropical flowers, energetic vines creeping like tentacles around every banister and railing. The Hotel Maya Vista, located atop a mount that is thought to be the highest point in Tela, is owned by a Quebecois couple who came once to this quiet port as snowbirds and never left. The coffee was strong as a bull and oozed the richness of the western Honduran soil where it was grown under Fair Trade conditions. The half-moon slices of fresh papaya and mango complemented the sweet thickness of the buttermilk pancakes at breakfast. And, oh that view, my parents with a near permanent smile, Mom J still recovering from the moment this morning in which she was told the news and cried tears of shocked joy, stretching herself awake as bold beams of sunlight arced through the room!
